Our Aero Power service offers an industry leading, data driven assessment to find the optimal balance of comfort, power and aerodynamics. We start by making full use of our state-of-the-art biomechanical equipment to increase your power functionality, improve pedal effectiveness and minimise discomfort.

We then integrate this approach into the aerodynamic positional optimisation, allowing us to establish the functional range and limits for positional changes before the wind tunnel session, as well as in the tunnel itself. This ensures any position is not just powerful and effective, but allows the athlete to achieve more in the tunnel time, avoiding time spent chasing un-rideable positions. Our AeroPower sessions are delivered by a Chartered Physiotherapist ensuring that each session is clinically approved and provided to the highest standard.

How it works

The Aero Power session is for competitive athletes looking to maximise their potential on the bike for training and racing. By combining sessions from the Human Performance Studio and the SSEH Wind Tunnel, we’re able to run a full programme focused on optimising your aerodynamic position and, ultimately, speed on two wheels.

At the end of the session, you’ll have a review which will cover your biomechanical functional profile as well as any data-driven performance modelling, where we can convert changes in your aerodynamic profile to time or Watts saved in an example race.

Your 6 hour session:

  • Assess the current set-up for comfort, power, pedalling effectiveness, aerodynamics and overall efficiency
  • Establish the functional range and limits for a biomechanically effective and sustainable aero position
  • Run-by-run feedback on positional changes
  • Real-world performance predictions
  • Comprehensive positional measurements to take away
  • Summary report and recommendations (within 14 days)
  • Recommendation and guidance on equipment choice for chosen events

There is no single solution to suit everyone, when it comes to finding performance through position and fit on the bike. The overlapping factors between pedalling efficiency, biomechanical range, injury history and equipment all have an impact on what is optimum for each athlete as an individual.

Our Human Performance AeroPower session comes with our Vorteq Performance Guarantee, where we will promise to find your proven, measured performance improvement with a post-session data report.


The route to peak performance is rarely straight or smooth. Healthy riders can have uniquely individual factors that might limit their physiological function or impose biomechanical constraints on their position and setup. Our regular service products include aspects of screening that will identify most of the major factors, but there may be additional analyses required to investigate deeper into individual issues.

Our specialist investigations can explore and help you identify any such areas. We will work with you to create a bespoke solution, or, if needed and clinically appropriate, we can connect you with our specialist partners.
